Cabo da Roca

June 18th, 2012

I spent the last few days traveling down the coast of Oman, going from really serene places like Wadi Shab and Tiwi to really wild places like Al Ashkara where the wind is strong and the seas are rough. This really reminded me of certain parts of Portugal, particularly Cabo da Roca, continental Europe’s westernmost point.

I visited Cabo da Roca twice so far and both times the winds were strong enough to make you worried when you get too close to the edge. The image below was taken on the last day of 2011 and it just seemed fitting to watch the last sunset of the year at such a beautiful place, thinking back at all the amazing spots I’ve photographed throughout last year and trying to imagine where 2012 will take me. Now that half of 2012 has passed, I’m looking forward to all the next adventures that await for the rest of the year.
