Grace in the concrete jungle
This is something I’ve been talking about and wanting to do for a very long time and last week I finally put together all the elements for the first shoot in this series of images which I hope will grow over time into something interesting.
Shooting architecture in Dubai can sometimes get you in some really interesting locations, but I feel that many of these places could do with a bit of human presence. So I thought a dancer could add some excitement to the city and last week I got together with the graceful Yana from Dance Studios Dubai, got my gear and a ladder and started shooting in the middle of the skyscrapers. As you can imagine, this is not something I do very often so a shoot like this is very useful for learning new tricks as it gets me out of my comfort zone. There are a lot of ideas and locations I have in mind for this project, but for the first try I’m quite happy with the results!
