A genuine smile
As I’m starting to plan my upcoming travel photography workshop in Mumbai later this year, I’m going through my images I shot there in January, thinking of locations and interesting places to photograph. If you’re interested to know more about this workshop (which most likely will take place in November), send me an email or leave a comment.
The image below was taken on the steps of Hagi Ali, one of Mumbai’s famous pilgrimage sites and as you’ll notice by hovering over the image and looking at the original, I’ve done quite a bit of cloning to the image. The reason for this was that no matter how I tried to process this image, the area to the left where the sea was visible was distracting.
Also, this is one of those images where I really struggled with the decision to process in black and white or colour. On one hand, the girl’s dress looks great in colour, but on the other hand her face becomes lost in all that colour, particularly that the light was very harsh and there’s a lot of contrast on the side of her face. As usual, I’m always interesting to hear what you have to say about it…
