I am currently in Oman for a three day shoot for a client and in between photographing buildings, today, I found some time in Salalah to photograph a few things for myself.
If you haven’t been to Salalah, it’s a very laid back city in Southern Oman, almost at the border with Yemen. It is mostly famous nowadays for its Khareef season (the monsoon season) when temperatures are pleasant in comparison to the rest of the region and the mountain waterfalls get filled by the rain. The Khareef has not started yet (it usually kicks off around the beginning of July), but the city is still pretty charming and full of interesting photographs to be made.
This photograph was not something I planned – I was just photographing the palm trees, but when I spotted the car slowly making its way on the beach with the three kids hanging out the windows, I knew I wanted an image!
