I will take a short break from my snowy landscapes of Hokkaido posts and post a bit of architecture.
While walking around my hotel in the Shiodome area of Tokyo to look for some architectural shots, I came across one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve seen in a while. It’s a fairly new structure (completed in 2002), designed by French architect Jean Nouvel. The lines are incredibly striking and from certain angles the building looks like some sort of futuristic rendering. I’m not quite 100% happy with this particular photograph as I really struggled to get a good angle and be far enough to fit everything in my 24mm tilt-shift lens, but it should at least give you an idea of how beautiful this building is.
I’m hoping I’ll go out again tomorrow to try and find a couple of new angles.
