Fes
Famous for the leather produced here, Fes has the most amazing Medina (old town) I have been to. The whole place is like a maze and it’s easy to get lost in the narrow streets. However, this is part of Fes’ charm… One of things you will find when wondering through the old town will be the leather tanneries. You will know when you get close to one, because the smell is awful. The leather is put through a mix of pigeon excrement, fish oils, animal fats and cow urine which give the leather its colour and quality.
