The other night I finally watched the secret life of Walter Mitty and before you jump at me saying the critics have said this and that about the movie or that you do or don’t like Ben Stiller, I would suggest you go watch the movie for yourself. Because for my part, it really resonated with me. I’m not sure if it’s because it has a lot of travel references or maybe because a lot of it is filmed in one of my favourite countries, Iceland, but whatever the reason I think the movie does a great job of showing that if you do what you love with passion, the people that matter most (whether it’s friends or clients) will be the ones appreciating this.
The reason why I mentioned this is because the more I do what I do, the more I realize that this is exactly what makes me happy. The more pictures I make, the more I know that I want to make more pictures. Always looking for that ultimate image that I’ll probably never take, but experiencing some great moments while doing it.
Very early this morning I was on my way to the mountains for my Ericsson shoot in Lebanon and I stopped at a little patisserie for some fresh croissants. The waiter asked if I was on my way to work and without even thinking, I said “Oh no, I’m just going to take some photographs”. But this is my work and anytime your work makes you feel like you are not working you know you’re in the right line of work.
I’ll leave you with a photograph of the beautiful bay of Jounieh close to Beirut, photographed yesterday.
