After what feels like a week on the road, I am finally exploring Hokkaido in the North of Japan and so far it’s been the exact winter wonderland I was expecting.
So far, it hasn’t been very cold, but this afternoon things got a bit more interesting as it started to snow heavily and the lenses started to get very wet very quickly. Although this is quite challenging, this is exactly what we’re here for and we all got very excited about the photographic opportunities in front of us.
The shot above was taken just a few hours ago in the Biei area of Hokkaido and if you’re wondering what’s with the blurry trees at the sides, it’s all because I’m playing around with my tilt-shift lens again. For some reason I find this lens really fitting for this sort of landscapes and I’ll probably use it quite a bit more in the coming days.
