As I mentioned in my previous post wadi is the local word for valleys here in the Middle East. A wadi can be anything from a few meters wide to large flood plains that fill quickly with water in the rainy season. Usually you’ll find plenty of palm trees in a wadi and that makes them a great place for camping. However, it’s not a good idea to do this during the rainy season as these are perfect places for flash floods.
This particular wadi is in the Hatta area, about 100km from Dubai, and as you can see there’s a proper road going through it leading to the water pools at the top. It wasn’t the best kind of weather for photography as the sky was very hazy and grey, but I thought I’ll post this shot as the view from the top was quite nice.
