In February this year I spent a couple of weeks in Norway and part of that trip were a few days above the Arctic Circle in a small town called Tromsø, one of the best places in Europe to catch the Northern Lights. Like I mentioned in my previous post about Tromsø, one of the best ways to see the town is to ride a cable park up one of the nearby mountains. From there you have an amazing view over the island that forms the main part of the town as well as it’s very interesting bridge that sweeps above the fjord.
The reason why I am posting this image now is because I am in the process of finalizing all the details about my upcoming trip to Antarctica at the beginning of December. I’ll be spending some time in Argentina, both in Buenos Aires and Patagonia and then for ten days I will be on a boat crossing the Drake Passage and spending every day doing zodiac trips to the Antarctic continent. One of the cool things about this (besides the amazing photographic opportunities) is that within the same year I’ll manage to cross both the Arctic and the Antarctic Circles.
Unfortunately panoramic images are not very web friendly and the image below is a bit on the small size, but if you want to see this in a bigger resolution head over to Flickr where I have posted a larger version.
