Since Petermann Island was the first stop during my trip to Antarctica in December, it was also probably the place that stayed in my mind the most in terms of views and wildlife. It was a gorgeous day when we got there and the penguins were out in force everywhere.
To get some penguin shots, all you had to do was sit down and let them do their thing. I imagine the penguins are fairly “blasé” about the landscapes around them, but for me, the image to the left was almost like a proof that even they sometimes just sit and watch the beautiful snow covered mountains rising from the freezing waters. It was almost like this group of penguins just stopped to admire the view.
On another note, I am flying to New York tomorrow so posts on the blog will be slow until I come back. I haven’t been to NYC in more than 10 years so I’m really looking forward to seeing the city and hopefully shooting some cool cityscapes.
