Airlines and their strange pricing structure

As I said in a previous post, in two weeks I am flying to South Africa. The flight will be an Emirates flight direct to Cape Town from Dubai. Now comes the strange part… For this flight I am paying 4100 Dirhams (about 700 Euros) return.Â I have some friends flying in from Germany, also on Emirates, on the exact same flight from Dubai to Cape Town, but just with the extra leg Frankfurt – Dubai added. For their flight they are paying 480 Euros. So for double the distance, they are paying 60% of the price… Is it just me, or is this strange and annoying?
