Leaving the buildings of Dubai behind for a post or two, I wanted to share with you one more image from my recent trip to Antarctica last December. If you’ve been following The Coldest Journey, you’ll know that Antarctica can prove to be a very difficult continent to cross. The Coldest Journey is an expedition trying to be the first one to cross Antarctica during winter time and as winter down-there is fast approaching conditions seem to deteriorate very quickly. It’s a really interesting expedition to follow so if you’re interested in adventures of this kind, head over to their website to give your support to their worthy cause.
The image below was taken on my first day in Antarctica, just as our boat was navigating along the Antarctic Peninsula, making its way through this beautiful landscape. I think the first thing that really amazed me about Antarctica was the sheer scale of things. Tall mountains line the coastline and huge glaciers are like walls guarding the continent. It’s one of those places that you’ll never forget and that you’ll always want to visit again and again.
