As I mentioned in my previous post, yesterday I flew to Iceland. I had quite a long wait in London, but after 20 hours I arrived last night into a completely different world than Dubai. The first thing you notice is that, even if it’s midnight, it’s still daylight and it doesn’t really get dark at all. The sun does set at about 11:45pm, but it only dips slightly under the horizon, popping up again 3 hours later. That creates amazing opportunities for photography and I will try and take advantage of it as much as I can over the next days.
As I wait for my first trip into the countryside to a very well known waterfall (Gullfoss), I thought I’ll post one of the shots I took this morning while walking through the capital, Reykjavik. The shot is of a German cruise-ship that is just arriving into port, with Esja, the mountain range just north of Reykjavik in the background.
