Beached
As I mentioned in my previous post, I was in Zanzibar for a few days, spending some time with my parents and showing them a little bit of this beautiful part of Africa. This was my third time on the Spice Island (as Zanzibar is also known) and every time I come back here I get mesmerized with the white sands and the amazing cloud formations that always seem to hang just above the water. When the tide is also at its lowest, the whole scene looks beautiful with the strong green of the algae and the traditional boats just resting on the sand.
For this trip I didn’t bring my D800. Instead I borrowed a Fuji X100 from a friend and shot in a lot more of a casual way. It did take a while to get used to it, but you can’t beat its weight. It was such a relief not carrying 10-12 kgs of gear on my back! I’ll probably try the XT1 next to try and make up my mind if I should buy one or not.
