Firstly, since some of my work has been featured in TimeOut Dubai today, I would like to say hello to all of you who are first time visitors to the blog. Welcome and I hope you’ll find something you like here!
Because the TimeOut article is specifically talking about taking photos in Dubai, today I wanted to post a shot of the Dubai skyline. This is very similar to this image I posted a while ago and was taken about 15 minutes earlier. Many of you at the time when I posted the first “Beautiful Dubai” image were asking were was it taken from. It’s not an easy place to find, but basically if you’re familiar with Dubai, it’s somewhere off Al Khail Road where the extension to the Dubai Creek is being built.
Post-production wise, you will notice that there is a dramatic perspective correction. I was shooting this with a wide-angle lens (12mm-24mm) and in order to straighten the buildings I had to use the perspective tool in Photoshop. A couple more curves later (one for the sky and one for the water) and the final result was ready!
Also, lately I’ve been getting a few inquiries about prints of my photographs and I just wanted to mention that I am in the process of making this a little bit easier by launching a site dedicated just for that. I am hoping to have this ready in the next couple of months, but until then I do have a range of my photos printed on high-quality stretched canvas, ready for shipping.
