This is one of 3 or 4 portraits that I will be posting, taken during my third day in Oman, part of the Faces and Places workshop. The morning of the third day was spent wandering through the alleys of the Muttrah Souq in Muscat trying to get more comfortable with asking to photograph people even when there is a strong language barrier.
The portrait below is of a bedouin from the Dhofar region of Oman who was visiting one of the shops in the souq and who took a lot of convincing until he let me take his picture. He probably has the most interesting face I photographed that morning and I only had about 2 minutes to take a good shot of him. He did not speak any English, but I was able to talk to him through a friend of his who knew a few words of English.
As always I would love to hear what you think about the image.
