In my previous review of the BenQ GH700 I mostly spoke about the ability of this camera to shoot in manual mode as the conditions were such that I was using long exposures to capture the city lights during the blue hour.
With this image I tested the camera’s dynamic range shooting in quite difficult conditions on a fairly cloudy day with a lot of contrast between the buildings and the sky. The GH700 actually produces a good result and although some of the details that you would see in a big DSLR are not there, there is enough date in the file to allow you to push the curves in Photoshop quite a bit. You will probably notice some artifacts in the top right corner in the clouds and these are mostly from the conversion to black and white which pushed the file to its limits.
My overall impression is that although this is no DSLR, a lot of amateurs with a small budget will enjoy it.
