As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m in Romania for a few days to see family and friends and this year the winter has been particularly snowy so I hoped for some opportunities to shoot winter landscapes. I did get that opportunity yesterday when we took a drive up in the mountains to a place called Ranca. The town is located at about 1,700m and is fairly new on the sking circuit in Romania as they only installed a chairlift a couple of years ago.
Although right at the top the visibility wasn’t very good, on the way I did manage to take a few shots of all the snow around me. The wind was blowing hard and there was snow getting blown everywhere creating these surreal images with little specks of white flowting around. The processing was fairly straight forward, with a couple of curves to increase the contrast in the sky and the detail in the branches.
