I’ve shot in Dubai Marina quite a few times before, but every time I walk through there I seem to find new stuff to photograph. The other night when I was doing the one-on-one workshop I was focusing more on explaining about exposures and apertures than actually shooting, but at some point I spotted the way these buildings looked like they were growing higher and higher as you moved further away.
I picked up my long 70-300mm lens and took this image. It’s always nice when you’re using a long lens in a situation like this because it compresses the spaces between the buildings and makes everything look even busier than it actually is. The post-processing was very simple with just a small perspective correction, a curve for contrasts and an additional curve to add a slight vignette.
