This is a bit of a departure from my regular travel / landscape / travel portraits stuff, but in the last few weeks I have been thinking quite a lot about people photography and using lights. Those of you that have been following the blog for a while know that from time to time I like to go out with a couple of strobes and umbrellas and shoot some portraits outdoors. This has been a mixed bag of results.
I do have some shots that I’m happy with, but it’s definitely not my strongest area and because of that I would like to shoot more of it so I can improve. To get back into it I have been looking over some of my previous shoots and found the image below taken about a year and a half ago on Yas Island. The girl is Ionela, a Romanian model who was passing through the UAE and had some spare time for a shoot. The light comes from one single strobe shot through an umbrella.
