Later today I’m heading out to Kenya for a shoot and I will be away for 3 days. Since I have been a bit slack with blogging over the last couple of weeks I wanted to post one image before I go as I’m not sure I will have time to blog anything from Kenya.
This shot is not your standard Dubai skyline image as it was my attempt at playing with the 24mm tilt-shift lens during a long exposure. What you are basically seeing is the lens being shifted down while the shutter was open. It’s definitely not perfect and I will need to try this a couple of other times to make it better, but I do like the effect it gives to all those city lights. There is also an additional reflection in this shot because it was photographed through a thick skyscraper glass. I would usually remove those sort of reflections in post-processing, but in this image I thought it added to the whole thing.
