Early mist
While in Madagascar a few months ago, every day seemed to always start before sunrise as there was always something to see or somewhere to go. Particularly along the river, life starts very early and the first signs of activity are well before sunrise.
This particular morning we were leaving behind the Tsingy National Park to make our way to the airport in Morondava to catch a flight north to Nosy Be. Although the distance is not very big, the roads are really bad so it takes a while to get there. On top of that, a very important thing is to time the river ferry crossings well, otherwise you end up spending hours just waiting for the next ferry to fill up.
This image was taken during one of these river crossings and I only got one shot as the whole scene happened really quickly. Although I had to do quite a bit of post-processing on this one (a couple of fairly strong Photoshop curves) I’m very happy with the result.
