Having seen Ilya’s recent photograph from Guilin (by the way, if you don’t know Ilya’s blog it’s definitely worth an in-depth look!), I remembered about by trip 3 years ago through this beautiful part of China. One of the best things to do when in Guilin is to catch a 4 hour cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, following the Li River as it snakes through the imposing karst peaks.
For me the cruise was a welcome departure from the chaos of Shanghai where I was the week before and although the weather was not good at all for photography it still was amazing to watch the world go by from the top-deck of the boat.
