A few years ago, I went on a trip to Malaysia and during that time I spent a week in Borneo exploring the island’s rainforest and its amazing diving spots. One of the more famous diving spots in Borneo is Sipadan Island, a beautiful island that rises 600m straight from the bottom. The visibility is normally around 30m-40m and the marine life is incredibly varied.
The shot below was taken from the boat, on the way to Sipadan Island, while we were passing all these floating houses and markets. I did have to use a couple of very dramatic curves in Photoshop to bring out the details in this image, but I’m quite happy with the end result.
