Four days and counting
Well, I have been in China for 4 days now and it has been every bit as interesting as I thought it would be. Shanghai is in a lot of ways similar to Dubai, although with a lot more people actually walking on the streets. Although it is incredibly hot and humid, at sunset there are thousands of people walking on the Bund admiring the sun going down over the new China (that is the tens of new skyscrapers that have popped up in the last few years).
Other highlights until now were a 30km bicycle ride through rice paddies, a walk through one of the water towns close to Shanghai, a 4 hour boat trip on the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo and watching the traditional style of fishing with the help of cormorants.
