This is one of those photographs that I can’t tell you a lot about, because it was really just the shape of the steel beams that attracted my eyes. So to make this a bit more interesting I’m going to ask you to try and guess the location of the shot. It should be an easy guess as the structure is in Dubai and it’s a fairly high-profile building. So leave a comment with your guess and tomorrow I’ll post an update with the location.
The post-processing was fairly simple. I tone-mapped the image in Photomatix from 5 exposures and then blended that with the -1E.V. exposure, converting everything to black and white with a red filter in Photoshop.
On another note, thanks to all of you who came down to the Arte Souk on Friday. It was a very interesting day and I’ll probably do it again in May. Also, I still have some canvases left so if you’re looking to buy one the 12″x12″ ones are AED390, the 16″x12″ ones are AED550 and the 28″x16″ ones are AED690.
UPDATE: I had a few answers on Twitter about the location of the shot below, but nobody seems to have guessed it. This is a closeup of the new Meydan Racecourse in Dubai. This particular portion of the building is almost in the center of this panorama.
