Those of you that visit the blog often will know that I am fascinated by Dubai’s skyline and the city’s incredible growth. I first visited Dubai in 2001 and the landscape is so different that sometimes in order to remind yourself that you’re in the same city, you need to go to where it all started, along the Dubai Creek.
This morning I got access to a really nice location close to the Dhow Wharfage area and while the day wasn’t as clear as I was hoping for, the city looked very beautiful as the sun started to light up the skyline and the boats below. It’s such a contrast between the futuristic buildings around the tallest tower in the world and the old dhows that are still being loaded by hand ready to tackle the seas between here and Iran or Pakistan.
