High above Dubai
I’m in the process of reorganising Momentary Awe to include a home page from where you will be able to easily navigate to both the blog and the travel site and while doing this I had a look through some of my older shots in the travel section. I found a few photographs that some of you might not have seen because I have never posted them to the blog. One of those shots is the one below, an aerial view of the famous Burj Al Arab taken during a helicopter trip I took about 2 years ago. The helicopter flight over Dubai was amazing and for the first time I was able to see all those developments (The Palm, The World, Jumeirah Islands etc.) the way they’re supposed to be seen. We took off from the Royal Terminal, flew alongside the Dubai Creek, Sheikh Zayed Road, Jumeirah Beach, Burj Al Arab and turning around over the desert. The pilot really made an effort to show us as much as possible and while the sudden vertical turns didn’t agree with my stomach I had a blast!
