Besides lighthouses and horses, churches are another very common thing you’ll find when driving through Iceland. There’s basically a small church like the one below in every village and some of them are beautiful structures that really stand out in the villages.
There’s not much I can tell you about the one below, except that it was sitting on the shore of a small lake and the sunlight was lighting it just right. As you can see from the original (rollover the “show the original” button) I haven’t done much to the image with the exception of a couple of curves to adjust the contrast.
