After a first day of rain and wind, Faroe Islands presented a completely different picture yesterday. It was a beautiful day perfect for hiking the many trails this island has to offer. I decided to take a ferry to the island of Kalsoy (population: 20), drive to the Northern tip of the island and then hike to the Kallur lighthouse. It’s not a difficult hike and the best part about it is that it’s one of those hikes that reward you at the end with spectacular views.
The photograph above has also a bit of a story to it. While I was at the top, the sun was mostly covered by fast moving clouds, but for about a minute, the sky opened up and the lighthouse was lit by this gorgeous light. I only had time to do a quick panorama with my iPhone and by the time I pulled out my other camera it all reverted to flat light. So, although I have the exact same composition taken with my camera, this photograph is actually the one from my iPhone.
