Life on the river #4
With all the trips I’ve been doing over the last six months or so it’s hard to keep up with posting all my images on the blog. When traveling to a really interesting destination I tend to generate a huge amount of images and sorting through them, post-processing them and publishing them takes quite a bit of my time. That’s why, as you can see, I’m still posting images from my trip to Madagascar last summer.
Of course, this is not a bad thing, as it’s the perfect way to tell you more about the travel photography adventure I will be leading down there this August. It will be 11 days of fun, photography and some very good food. We will descent for three days this same river depicted in this image, we will meet and photograph lots of locals and we will talk about all the challenges (and rewards!) that travel photography brings. Now, to today’s image. I took this one as we were waiting to get all our gear into the pirougues for the three day camping trip and these two guys were just returning from another river trip. It usually takes them about seven days to push their way up-river, back to the original starting point and I have a lot of respect for these guys being able to do this for seven days straight.
