It’s time for another shot from my “life on the river” series, taken about a year ago in Madagascar and the reason I’m posting another one today is because my upcoming travel adventure / photography workshop in Madagascar in August has just been featured in the Lonely Planet Traveller Middle East. I’ve always used the Lonely Planet guides to get an initial idea about the places I visit and I’m very proud to have this workshop featured in their magazine. The magazine is out today and it’s full of travel goodies so if you get a chance, grab one.
As for today’s image, like all the other “life on the river” ones, it was taken on the Tsiribihina River during the three day spent on the pirogue photographing the locals and the beautiful landscapes. This guy was pushing his way up the river which is quite a feat as it takes about 7 days to bring the pirogues back to where they started (it takes only 3 days when going with the river!)
The three days river trip will be part of the adventure in Madagascar and there are still a couple of places available if this is something you might be interested in. You can find more details here.
