Light painting a mountain
As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, I spent this weekend on a road trip in Oman, camping around Nizwa and Jebel Shams. It was a relaxing trip with an old friend who is in the process of testing his bike for a trip from Dubai to Australia which will take him about 8 months.
I’ll write about the trip in a later post, but for now I just wanted to post this quick shot I took just after it got dark and we finished setting up the camp. I noticed a couple of cars starting their way down from the top of the mountain on this really steep road and I wanted to see if I could light paint the whole road with the headlights from the cars. So I set the camera on a really long exposure (457 seconds to be exact!) and let the cars do their thing. Unfortunately it was really dark so my framing could have been better, but overall I’m happy with the image. I would love to hear what you think.
