Those of you following the blog or my Twitter feed will know that for the last two weeks I have been traveling through Portugal. It’s been an amazing trip and I don’t know how I managed until now to stay away from Portugal as it turned out to be my favourite country in that part of Europe. I only had time for so much, but I’m sure I will be back in no time to explore more of the beautiful coastline and have some more tasty seafood!
What better way to start the Portugal series than a photograph of Lisboa (Lisbon for the English speaking world), the capital of Portugal. It’s a beautiful city spread on quite a few steep hills overlooking the Tagus River. The shot below was taken from the Castle of São Jorge around sunset time, looking towards the 25th of April bridge. It’s a great place to watch the sunset and although the day was quite cloudy, I’m still happy with the way the photo turned out. Oh, and in case you’re wondering about the slightly strange looking clouds, this was taken with my 8 stop ND filter and it’s a very long exposure allowing the clouds to move quite a bit.
On another note, before I left for Portugal, I started using Instagr.am and I have been sharing quite a few iPhone photos there (like this one or this one). So if you want to follow that stream, my Instagr.am id is momentaryawe.
