Since the blog has been quiet for two weeks, I thought nobody will get upset if I post images on two consecutive days. I’ve got lots of “bloggable” shots in the pipeline anyway…
Towards the end of the trip through Portugal, we took a detour via the small town of Tomar, which in the 12th century was the headquarters of the famous Knights Templar and is host to a once every four year festival called Festa dos Tabuleiros (Festival of the Trays). It’s a really interesting festival, but more on that in a later post. The old man below, was waiting for the festival proceedings and as soon as I spotted him I knew I wanted to take his picture. He just had one of those interesting faces and was kind enough to let me take a few shots.
Post processing was fairly simple, with a couple of curves for contrast and for brightening the eyes. The black and white conversion was done with a blue filter to accentuate the lines on his face.
