This shot is one of a few I will be posting in the coming weeks and it was taken at the first Indian wedding I photographed in Bangalore last week. This was part of the Mehndi ceremony which is held a day before the actual marriage and was introduced first in Northern India by the Mughal rulers. During this ceremony the Mehndi (also known as henna) is applied on the hands and feet of the future bride and her family and friends in intricate patterns.
