While on Masirah Island, we spent quite a bit of time looking around for people to photograph. This was no easy feat as the island seems completely empty during the day and only at certain hours you can find the fishermen mending their nets, either getting ready to go out fishing or just returning after a long day’s work.
This photograph is one of my favourites from this trip as I think it really shows in just one frame what these guys do and how they live. Everything happens on the boat – the washing, the fishing and the fixing and repairing of their gear. Life is not easy on one of these boats so the next time you’re having a piece of tasty fish, think of the fishermen that do this day in, day out.
