Tomorrow morning I’m going to Oman for a few days, camping and driving around, hopefully getting a few good shots in the process so in the meantime I wanted to leave you with yet another image taken earlier this week while exploring a couple of new locations.
One thing that I find very difficult with these kind of images is naming them. They’re all quite similar in terms of the subject so lately I’ve been struggling to come up with original names for each one (particularly considering this is my 726th post on this blog!). While the name for this post might not be very original, I feel it really gets across the feelings you have when you’re looking at these tall neighbourhoods of Dubai from somewhere high-up. There is such a sensory overload with all the lights and movement on the 12 lane highway.
As opposed to the last couple of shots, this one was taken with my 14-24mm lens as I was trying to capture most of the Dubai Marina and the tilt-shift just wasn’t wide enough. A good tip for these sort of images if you want your verticals to stay straight is to put the horizon as close as you can to the middle and then crop the image in post if you want any particular elements on one of the thirds.
