This week: Omani oasis, Khatwa village

Khatwa Oasis

Khatwa is a village about 45 minutes away from the Al Ain-Oman border. It’s a very traditional village where I don’t think life has changed in the last 40-50 years. The irrigation of the crops is still done with traditional water canals (also known as falaj) and the people are still getting their water from a gorge right next to the village.
