Over the edge
This week: Over the edge in the mountains around Salalah, Oman
Got back from Salalah last night and although the air was very dusty and not very good for photography, we had a great time. The area around Salalah is amazing with high mountains dropping straight into the sea below and beautiful unspoilt beaches with crystal clear water and teeming underwater life. I’ve got a few shots coming up in the next few days, including a picture of a beautiful secret beach not mentioned in any of our guidebooks (we had 3!).
As for this shot, it was taken high up in the mountains between Salalah and Mirbat. The drop-off here is about 800m and the slopes are full of exotic vegetation like Baobab and Frankincense trees.
