The monster
This week: Loading up the monster, Heathrow Airport, London
Two weeks ago, on my way back from the UK, I flew for the first time in the new Airbus A380, double-decker, monster of a plane. Although it wasn’t the best day for taking photographs, I did manage to snap this shot of the A380 being loaded with supplies for its 644 passengers (that’s the maximum it can take, but I think on this flight there were about 500 or so people). Emirates has it configured so the top deck is all business and first class, while downstairs (where I was) is the cattle class. First impressions were very good with the cabin feeling quite big and with lots of space. The windows are a bit bigger, which also gives you a feel of more space. The best part about the plane is how quiet it is. At cruising altitude (41,000 feet on this particular flight) you can hardly hear the engines!
