While I was in Paris during the Christmas period, the weather was very icy and coming from Dubai where it was still 26 degrees (Celsius) things felt a bit chilly. Particularly early evenings when I was trying to take some blue hour shots and very quickly realizing that my fingers are not going to last very long on the camera.
That’s the reason why I wanted to take this shot. I noticed the way the Pont des Arts was covered in ice, reflecting all the bridge lights, so I setup the camera on one of the benches and waited until the bridge was almost clear of people. One interesting detail about the Pont des Arts bridge is that there is a tradition for couples to put locks on the side of the bridge and then throw the key into the river below to signify their undying love.
