I’ll say this from the start. I’m not a wedding photographer, but I do enjoy shooting a wedding once in a while. I think for photographers weddings are a very good test of thinking quick how to light a scene or how to quickly capture a moment that will pass in a flash.
A couple of weeks ago I shot a wedding at the Dubai Creek Golf Course and right after sunset I had a bit of time with the couple to go around the Park Hyatt Hotel and take some photos. The hotel grounds are beautiful and I really wish I could have shot there during the day as there were a lot of very interesting locations. However, since it was already dark I took out my SB-900 and SB-800 strobes, hooked them up to a light stand and an umbrella and shot some low-key shots of the couple, trying to go for this black and white, grainy kinda look.
I’m quite happy with the results, but as always I would love to hear what you think.
