Yemen is one of those countries, where you probably would not go unless you live somewhere close by. Having some time off, we decided to jump on an Air Arabia flight and spend a few days there. We stayed in a lovely hotel called Arabia Felix situated in an old renovated building in the old town of Sana’a. The old city of Sana’a is a UNESCO World Heritage site and you feel like you are stepping 200 years back in time. We were there during the Eid holidays which made it even more interesting. At 6 in the morning on the first day of Eid everybody is out and about dressed in their best clothes visiting friends and relatives. Yemeni men are very proud and Yemen was the only country I have been to where people actually stopped me on the street and asked me to take a picture of them. When you take a picture, they all take a very proud pose showing off their traditional dagger.
