Sheikh Zayed Mosque
I haven’t visited the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in quite a while and yesterday I was surprised to see that it has become a popular tourist attraction with lots of buses full of tourists filling the parking lot at the South entrance.
I was even more pleasantly surprised when everything went smoothly during our 1 hour tour of the mosque with the guides being very well organized and knowledgeable. Mohammed (our group’s guide) answered all our questions with a smile and provided some really interesting information that even after living here for quite a while I was not aware of.
As for the photo to the left, I hope you won’t mind when I tell you that it was directed and not entirely my idea. It was pointed to me that the reflections of women in abayas look great in the pools in front of the mosque so I had them walk a couple of times up and down trying to get a shot I was happy with.
