As those of you following me on Instagram might know (Instagram algorithm permitting), I am yet again back to Japan, this time with the wonderful people from Fujifilm Middle East who have invited me to the Fujifilm X Summit Tokyo 2024. The main event took part today where the new X100VI was announced – I know quite a few photographers who are really looking forward to this camera!
As you can imagine, if you put a lot of photographers together in such a visual place like Tokyo, images will start flowing very quickly so I am looking forward to seeing what everybody else has been photographing.
For my part, I thought I would start with this image as a tribute to street photography and cameras like the X100VI that make it possible. Although the image is shot with the much larger GFX50SII and the 30mm tilt-shift lens, I think it holds well as a street shot. Also, as an interesting detail, the store on the left side of the image is the world-famous Yodobashi Camera Shinjuku, a five story camera store where you can find pretty much anything you can think of when it comes to photography equipment.
