Sunlit cart
One of my favourite things to photograph in Petra is the Siq, a narrow canyon that leads to Petra’s main attraction, the Treasury. I love just picking up a spot there and waiting for the light to get interesting or for one of the carts carrying tourists back and forth to pass by. I’ve posted quite a few shots of these carts before and you can see some of them by having a look in the Jordan section of the blog.
As for the shot above, I almost missed it as I was walking away from the scene and only turned my back at the last moment to see the light coming through the narrow opening and throwing beautiful shadows on the surrounding walls. So I stopped and waited for a cart to pass by, making sure I catch it just as it was turning the corner.
