The bird and the thorns
This post is going up on the blog while I am in a plane on my way to Madagascar for a couple of weeks and I thought it was only fitting to post an image also taken in Africa.
Unfortunately, my knowledge of birds is really limited so I won’t be able to tell you what kind of bird this is, but as always you guys are very clever so I’m sure someone will let me know in the comments what bird is it (actually while I was writing this, I remembered that this is a kingfisher!). The image was taken early morning while on a safari in Tanzania and I really like how the light was filtering through the leaves lighting up the bird. I’m hoping I’ll be able to capture quite a few images like this while in Madagascar as lemurs seem to be also hiding a lot between trees.
On another note, I’ve scheduled a couple of posts for the 2 weeks I’m away, but as you can imagine the replies to comments will be slow (if at all).
