This is probably Iceland’s most famous tourist attraction and unfortunately I was there only on the last day on my way to the airport without much time for photography. Also, the day wasn’t a great one for taking photos and the colours of the water in the original version don’t do justice to the place.
The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa with waters averaging temperatures between 37°C and 39°C. The water is rich in minerals which are supposed to help with some skin diseases. It’s a very surreal place, particularly on a cold and cloudy day like the one when I was there. The steam is everywhere and the water has this strange turquoise colour that just looks unreal!
